Copenhagen Business School - Peter Bangs Vej

After years of tight and frequent collaboration with Copenhagen Business School we were put in charge of a total renovation of an old factory, which we repurposed into five full floors of new facilities for teaching, exam-taking, group-work and social events.

We were brought on long before conception, and began by organizing user involvement workshops to get a sense for what students, teachers and other faculty members’ needs and desires were. Through dialogue and activities, we discovered a lack of informal and flexible spaces on campus, private spaces for examinations, for group work, for gatherings, spaces to be alone in those anxious moments before tests, to celebrate with family just after. 

From there we established an identity for the building, which CBS insisted should draw inspiration from the palette of other buildings on campus. With this as our foundation, we designed a series of flexible, modular furniture that can be connected and separated ad hoc.
