For the launch of Royal Copenhagen’s IRIS collection, Tableau Copenhagen approached us to deliver a series of display elements across the window installation and in store presentation.
The concept centered on a suspended composition of oversized plates and shells. To achieve this, the elements were produced in expanded foam, allowing them to be suspended, almost weightlessly in the window. Each piece was cut using our 5-axis CNC to establish the geometry before being hand-finished.
A plaster-based skim was applied across the surfaces to smooth the material and bring it towards a ceramic quality. This process introduced a subtle irregularity and texture, allowing the objects to retain a sense of handwork rather than reading as purely machined forms.
The final gradient finish was developed and applied by Johan Dam Westermann, adding depth and variation across the pieces.
Alongside this, we fabricated a modular table system for the launch event and ongoing display. The tables were resolved as individual elements that could operate independently or read as a continuous form when brought together.
